Thank you to everyone who participated in Ecyclebflo 2012!

This year we were able to collect 20,579 lbs. of old electronics to be recycled by Sunnking Electronic Recycing!  A portion of proceeds from this event to benefit Education Technology Foundation of WNY.  Ed-Tech WNY provides underserved organizations with access to technology.

Ecyclebflo took place on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Lafayette Square, Buffalo, New York.  It was a beautiful day full of electronic recycling, great music, special guest appearances, prizes, awesome volunteers, and who could forget the ShatterZone!

We were very excited to see Sabre Tooth (Buffalo Sabres) and Buster Bison (Buffalo Bisons) at our event again this year! Both Buffalo Mascots were very helpful with collecting the old electronics brought in for donations. We also had a guest appearance by ShatterMan (ShatterIT) and awesome music playing the whole day, provided by CJ Sound.

Our ShatterZone was a lot of fun as participants were able to SHATTER their old electronics for secure recycling! Sabre Tooth and ShatterMan both took a swing at old electronics to SHATTER them! ShatterZone participants were entered into a drawing to win a list of great prizes! The raffle winners were drawn by Renee Cerullo, President of Ed-Tech.

Smart Phones: A Growing Concern

By: Chris Marshall
Smart phones are becoming more powerful with every new feature that is released. This is not only attractive to businesses, but also younger generations. As we incorporate smart phones with more sensitive information, it creates a much greater vulnerability to information theft. Securing that sensitive information is often not considered, especially with younger smart phone users. The possibility that your corporate email, personal pictures, or other personal information could easily be stolen greatly increases if you have not taken measures to enhance your smart phone integrity. Regardless of make, iPhone, Android, and even BlackBerry are susceptible to attacks that, unaddressed, could result in the theft of money, information, and even identity.
